Api Debnath, a student of Krishnapur Higher Secondary School in North Tripura district, has secured the joint 10th position in the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) conducted Higher Secondary(+2) Examination.

This outstanding achievement has brought immense pride and joy to her school, her family, and her locality.

Api, the elder daughter of Rupam Debnath, a hardworking farmer, and a resident of Ward No. 1 under Charubhasa Gram Panchayat in Dharmanagar subdivision, has faced and overcome significant economic challenges to reach this milestone.

Despite the modest means of her family, who belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, Api has consistently excelled in her studies. Rupam Debnath cultivates their half-acre land, earning a meager monthly income of Rs 6 to 7 thousand, while Api’s mother manages the household.

From primary to higher secondary education, Api has been a student of Krishnapur School, where she consistently ranked first in her class.

This accomplishment follows her impressive performance in the Madhyamik (10th) Examination, where she secured 475 marks and five-star marks, though she narrowly missed the top 10 ranking at that time.

Api’s daily routine reflects her unwavering dedication. She studied diligently for four to five hours each day and attended coaching classes, walking one to one and a half kilometers to reach her tutors.

The unwavering support from her school’s teachers played a crucial role in her success. Beyond academics, Api enjoys reading storybooks and novels, playing cricket, and admires cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

She also finds solace in listening to Bengali Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Geeti.

Despite her academic aspirations to study out of state, Api’s family’s financial constraints have led her to pursue English Honors at Dharmanagar College.

Her determination remains unshaken, as she aims to become self-sufficient and eventually support other students in her village.

Api’s father, Rupam Debnath, beams with pride as he recounts his daughter’s journey. From class one to the Madhyamik exams, Api consistently secured the first position in her class.

Although financial limitations meant they could not afford tutors easily, the collective effort of her teachers and Api’s relentless dedication bore fruit in the Higher Secondary Examination.

Her mother echoes this sentiment, expressing profound happiness and pride in Api’s achievement. The villagers, too, share in this collective pride, celebrating Api’s success as a beacon of hope and inspiration.
