Key points:

1) 469 posts will be recruited in various departments of the state.

2) The recruitment process for most of the posts will be done through TPSC.

3) 6 Food Sub-Inspectors (Group-C) will be recruited under the Food and Public Distribution Department.

4) 67 retired police officers will be re-employed to facilitate the opening of immigration at Nishchintpur railway station, Sabroom ICP and Agartala MBBA Airport.

In line with the advice of the Central Government, Tripura Government has decided to re-appoint 67 retired Police Officers to facilitate opening of immigration facilities in Agartala MBB Airport and other places. Moreover, the council Ministers of the Government of Tripura gave nod for recruitment of personnel in 469 posts in various departments.

Addressing a press conference, Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, A decision has been made to recruit 469 people to various departments of the state.

This decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting on June 13 and 15. He said that out of the 469 posts, 226 General Duty Medical Officers (Grade-4), 16 Super Specialty Medical Officers (Grade-3), 172 Specialist Medical Officers (Grade-4) will be recruited in the Health and Family Welfare Department and 49 Sub-Officers (Group-C) under the Fire and Emergency Services Department.

The recruitment process for all these posts will be done through TPSC.

In addition, it has been decided to recruit 6 Food Sub-Inspectors (Group-C) under the Food and Public Distribution Department. The recruitment process for these 6 posts will be done through JRBT.

The Food Minister further informed the media at the press conference that in the cabinet meeting, a decision has been taken to re-employ 67 retired police officers of the state to facilitate the opening of immigration at Nishchintpur railway station, Sabroom ICP and Agartala MBB Airport on the advice of the central government.
