The Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers Chandra Memorial League Football is set to resume after a day’s break on Monday with two highly anticipated matches at the Umakanta Mini Stadium in Agartala.

In the first match of the day, Bloodmouth Club will take on Forward Club and in the second match of the day, Nine Bullets Club play against Ramkrishna Club.

Bloodmouth Club, coming off a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Jewels Association in their opening match, will be looking to build momentum and secure their second consecutive win. Despite not being at their best in the first match, Bloodmouth managed to grab all three points, thanks to their goalkeeper, Suraj, who delivered an outstanding performance between the posts. However, there were noticeable lapses in defense, particularly from central defender Shanti Kumar Singh and left-back Shantanu Jana, who struggled to find their rhythm. Bulemni Jamatia’s tireless effort helped to cover some defensive gaps, but the team will need to tighten up at the back to avoid any slip-ups.

Midfield cohesion is another area of concern for Bloodmouth club, as key midfielder Pradeep Goswami underperformed in the opening game. Jishnu, on the other hand, stood out with his performance and was named the Man of the Match. Bloodmouth’s chances of success against Forward heavily depend on Jishnu’s ability to replicate his first match heroics. The team will also rely on Nabakumar Singh’s goal-scoring capabilities, making him another player to watch.

Meanwhile, Forward Club, a team composed of footballers from a university in Manipur, showed resilience in their first outing by holding the formidable Ramkrishna Club to a draw. This earned them a valuable point and a slight psychological advantage heading into the clash against Bloodmouth.

The tactical approach of Forward Club’s coach, Pranab Sarkar, will be pivotal in their quest for victory. If they can exploit Bloodmouth’s defensive vulnerabilities, they might come away with a positive result.

In the second match of the day, two of the tournament’s heavyweights, Nine Bullets Club and Ramkrishna Club, will face off in what promises to be a nail-biting encounter. Ramkrishna Club, the shield runners-up, did not showcase their best football in their first game, settling for a draw against the relatively weaker Forward Club. The team boasts several talented players, with Govindas Singh’s pace and dangerous left-wing crosses being a major threat to opponents. Midfielder Samarjit Singh after displaying stellar performances in the Shield, did not meet expectations in the league opener. He will need to regain his form to effectively lead the midfield battle against Nine Bullets.

Defensively, Umakant Singh and Johnson Singh must be at their best against a formidable Nine Bullets side featuring the likes of Tulunga and Rajib Sadhan, players who have the potential to turn the game around at any moment.

Nine Bullets Club is under pressure after suffering a defeat in their opening match against Egiye Chalo team. A win in this match is crucial for Nine Bullets to stay in contention for the championship. Goalkeeper Amit Jamatia will need to improve significantly after his errors led to two goals in the previous game. The stakes are high for both teams.
