The state government has decided to increase the festival allowance for employees at all levels this year. This decision will benefit employees at various levels.

To this end, The Government of Tripura’s Department of Finance has issued a memorandum outlining the revised rates for the Festival Grant and Festival Advance for various categories of employees, staff, and workers. The notification, dated September 21, 2024, provides clarity on the financial assistance offered to government employees in the lead-up to festival celebrations.

According to the memorandum, the revised rate for the Festival Grant will vary based on the category of the employee. The following details were provided:

Group-C Employees including employees recruited on a fixed-pay basis, with regular scale posts held in abeyance, will be eligible for a grant of Rs 2,000.

Group-D Employees including employees on a fixed-pay basis, with regular scale posts held in abeyance, will also receive Rs 2,000 as a Festival Grant.

Daily Rated Workers (DRWs): Those engaged with prior approval from the Finance Department will be granted Rs 2,000.

PTWs, Contractual workers, and Casual Workers etc engaged with prior concurrence from the Finance Department are eligible for Rs 2,200.

Pensioners and Family Pensioners: This group will receive a Festival Grant of Rs 2,000.

Anganwadi Workers and Helpers: These employees will receive a slightly higher amount of Rs 2,200.

Home Guards and Special Police Officers (SPOs): These personnel will also be entitled to a grant of Rs 2,200.

Priests of Government-run Temples: Religious personnel employed in government-run temples will be granted Rs 2,000.

The memorandum briefly mentions that workers and staff under Central Schemes will be addressed separately by the concerned department, which will decide on the grant specifics for such employees.
