Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force’s (BSF) Eastern Command, commenced a three-day visit to Tripura on Monday.
Upon his arrival at the BSF Tripura Frontier headquarters, he was warmly received by IG Patel Piyush Purushottam and briefed on the current status and challenges along the state’s border areas.
As part of his visit, the ADG attended a conference organized by the Indian Land Ports Authority in Sabroom under the South Tripura District today, where he was the guest of honor.
Speaking at the event, Ravi Gandhi commended the establishment of the Sabroom land port, emphasizing its strategic significance for the northeastern region.
He highlighted that the port’s proximity to Chittagong in Bangladesh presents immense opportunities for trade and economic growth, benefitting the entire region.
Following the conference, ADG Gandhi conducted an inspection of the eastern border areas.
During his visit to Raisyabari, senior BSF officials, including the DIG and Commandant, provided him with a detailed briefing on the local border situation.
Praising the relentless efforts of BSF personnel, Gandhi acknowledged the challenges faced by the jawans deployed in Tripura’s difficult and often inhospitable border terrain.
He expressed his appreciation for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the nation’s borders.
