In a show of strong partnership in curbing drugs addiction and substance abuse, the 13th Battalion TSR volleyball team (Kanchanpur) plays hotly contested friendly volleyball matches today with inmates of Calvary Healing Center (CHC), at the latter’s ground at Behliangchhip, Jampui Hill. The TSR team won the competition 2:1.
The event was graced by Rajesh Bardhan, Asst Commandant of 13th Battalion TSR as Chief Guest and other officers from the headquarters; Dr Zairemthiama Pachuau, Founder and Chairman of HMC Hillcrest Medical Center Foundation; Lalfinpuia Tochhawng, Director of CHC; Ordained Evangelist Lalchungnunga, Coordinator of CHC; and Reverend Zotinkhuma.
Rajesh Bardhan and Dr Zairemthiama Pachuau in their speeches acknowledged the value of partnerships and concerted efforts from all partners in making a drug-free society.
They also encouraged the inmates of CHC to cling to hope, strength, and the positives of life and come out victorious from the clutches of drugs addiction.
CHC is a de-addiction centre established and managed by the Jampui Sakhan Baptist Association and provides holistic physical and mental health services to all in need without discrimination irrespective of caste, creed, community and religion.
Since its inception, the services of the centre have been availed by needing clients from all over Tripura, and from across the border Mizoram.
The TSR today provided dinner for all the participants and handed over valuable gifts to the CHC for their use.
