In a heartwarming gesture of gratitude and generosity, Dr. Ratish Chandra Pal, a renowned ophthalmologist from Kolkata and an alumnus of Fatikroy Higher Secondary (+2) School, donated materials worth approximately Rs 5 lakh to his former school. The donation ceremony took place on Saturday amidst a vibrant and joyous atmosphere at the school campus.
The contribution, aimed at enhancing the learning environment for students, included various scientific equipment and computer systems. These were handed over to the school authorities during the event, which was attended by notable personalities, teachers, students, and community members.
Dr. Pal, who hails from the Assambasti area of Fatikroy, began his academic journey at Fatikroy Higher Secondary (+2) School. After completing his secondary education, he pursued higher studies in Agartala before moving to Kolkata, where he established himself as one of the country’s leading ophthalmologists.
Despite his professional commitments, Dr. Pal remains deeply connected to his roots, exemplified by his generous donation.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries such as Amulendu Das, Chairman of the Unakoti Zilla Parishad; Krishna Ranjan Pal, the acting headmaster of the school; and Nilkanta Sinha, the president of the school management committee.
