ProMASS: DEC20,2016: In Manipur, indefinite curfew imposed in Imphal East district yesterday is still continuing. The District Administration imposed the curfew in view of the tension in certain areas after the formation of seven new districts by the state government. The Imphal East District Magistrate said, curfew was imposed to prevent disturbances of public tranquillity and danger to human lives and properties. However, the curfew imposed in Imphal West district yesterday was lifted today. Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has appealed all sections of the society to maintain peace and harmony. He said the new districts have been formed to provide better services to the people in remote hilly areas.
