ProMASS: DEC 22, 2016: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, the fight against black money and corruption will continue and called upon people to adopt digital economy for cashless transactions to curb regeneration of black money. Addressing a gathering at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi today, Mr. Modi said, a pile of corruption is being cleaned. He said, such decisions bring big changes in the lives of people and the society at large. Mr. Modi reacted sharply to the comments made by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress leaders P. Chidambaram and Rahul Gandhi opposing demonetisation.
He said, if they oppose digital economy and his initiative, saying that about 50 per cent population is still without education and electricity, they are themselves presenting their own report card. The Prime Minister slammed political parties and their leaders for questioning the surgical strike by Indian Army across the Line of Control. Earlier, Mr Modi laid the foundation of Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Center at Banaras Hindu University. The dedicated cancer centre will be built at a cost of about 500 crore rupees. Mr Modi also laid the foundation of super specialty block of Institute of Medical Science of the University.
The Prime Minister said, the role of technology in medical science is increasing and government is making efforts to provide best medical facilities in the country. He said, the need of the hour is to provide quality and affordable healthcare to the people especially the poor. Mr Modi said, Indian doctors have distinguished themselves at the world stage.
