ProMASS: Jan 10, 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2017 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, in a short while from now. This year’s biennial flagship event of the state is hosting Prime Ministers, Presidents, Deputy Prime Ministers and ministers of several countries apart from CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.
Large delegations from 12 partner countries of Vibrant Gujarat including the US, the UK, France, Australia & Canada are also attending the summit. AIR correspondent reports the summit aims to provide a platform to debate global economic and social issues on the lines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. After the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Modi will chair the Global CEO Roundtable event with 50 top industry leaders both from India and abroad. Bertrand-Marc Allen of Boeing International, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem of DP World group, Cisco System’s John Chambers and 32 other global CEOs will also remain present along with Indian business personalities like Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Gautam Adani at the Global CEOs’ Conclave.
Ahead of the summit, Mr Modi held delegation-level talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Gandhinagar today. Both leaders discussed a wide range of issues, and India’s increasing engagements as a development partner for Africa. A joint statement issued after the talks said, the two leaders agreed to raise the level of cooperation to a Strategic Partnership. They reiterated their strong commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Both sides also agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism, people-to-people links, especially exchanges between the youth of both the countries.Mr. Modi also held bilateral discussions with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Japan’s Economy Minister, Denmark’s Energy Minister and Swedish Education Minister.
