Over the past five years, TLDA has facilitated the birth of 59,851 female calves across the state through the use of sex-sorted frozen semen, significantly boosting dairy production prospects.
The award recognizes the successful implementation of the innovative project titled “Introduction of Sex Sorted Semen for Artificial Insemination in Cattle of Selected AI Pockets in Tripura State.”
Selected under the Rural Development Sector, this initiative has been lauded for its impactful contribution to enhancing cattle breeding efficiency and improving rural livelihoods. The project sets a benchmark for innovative practices in animal husbandry, positioning Tripura as a leader in livestock development nationwide.

The achievement was made possible through the relentless efforts and cooperation of key figures in the department, including Minister Sudhangshu Das, Secretary Deepa D. Nair, Director Dr. Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, and TLDA’s General Manager Dr. Sanjib Das. Their collective dedication has driven the success of this transformative initiative.
