5 soldiers trapped under fresh avalanche in Kashmir

Jan 28, 2017: Five soldiers were trapped under a fresh snow avalanche that hit today an army post Machhil sector of north Kashmir’s frontier district of Kupwara.

News agency reports, though the weather condition is very harsh and hostile, the Avalanche Rescue Team has launched operation to trace out the missing army personnel. At least 21 persons including 15 Army personnel and four members of a family have died in snow-triggered tragedies including avalanches, roof collapses since Tuesday at various places in Kashmior region.

The road connectivity remains snapped between the Valley and the rest of the world for last five consecutive days.
