Dharmanagar (Tripura), May 23, 2025:  In a remarkable incident, a pregnant woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy aboard the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjunga Express train en route from Sabroom (South Tripura District) to Sealdah (West Bengal).

The dramatic delivery took place on Thursday, prompting swift action from railway authorities and medical teams to ensure the safety of the mother and newborn at Dharmanagar Railway Station in Tripura.

The Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) at Dharmanagar was alerted about the onboard delivery and immediately coordinated a rescue operation.

Upon the train’s arrival at Dharmanagar Railway Station, a medical team from Dharmanagar Railway Hospital, comprising doctors and nurses, rushed to the scene to provide urgent care.

After an initial examination, both the mother, identified as Katki Nagasia, and her newborn son were confirmed to be in stable condition.
