Bishramganj (Tripura), May 29, 2025 – Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to advancing natural and organic farming to ensure sustainable agriculture nationwide.
Speaking at the launch of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in Bishramganj, Sepahijala district, Dr Manik Saha announced that Tripura is actively cultivating approximately 5,500 hectares of land using natural farming methods, aligning with the central government’s vision for eco-friendly agriculture.

The event, attended by Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath and other dignitaries, underscored Tripura’s dedication to modernizing its agricultural sector.
Digital Krishi Mission-2024
Dr Manik Saha highlighted the state’s integration of cutting-edge technology through the Digital Krishi Mission-2024, a collaborative initiative with NITI Aayog and the Union Ministry of Agriculture.
This program leverages Artificial Intelligence to enhance crop advisory services, empowering farmers with data-driven insights to boost productivity.

Reflecting on a recent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Chief Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, Dr. Saha noted PM Modi’s call for nationwide agricultural awareness campaigns to foster farmer self-reliance.
He also revealed that the state cabinet recently deliberated on critical issues concerning agricultural land, production challenges, and sustainable solutions.
Boosting Farmer Welfare
Dr Manik Saha outlined transformative measures to support Tripura’s 4.72 lakh farmers, whose average monthly income has surged from ₹6,580 in 2015-16 to ₹13,590 today.

Under the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, farmers received ₹843.64 crore, while the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana disbursed ₹10.63 crore for crop insurance.
Additionally, Kisan Credit Cards facilitated access to approximately ₹2,200 crore in financial support.
The state’s robust Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement for paddy has directly transferred ₹443 crore to farmers’ accounts, ensuring economic stability.
Further, the distribution of 2.06 lakh soil health cards and subsidized agricultural machinery worth ₹204 crore has equipped farmers with essential tools to enhance productivity.
Tripura Agriculture and Economy
Dr. Saha credited PM Modi’s leadership for Tripura’s remarkable achievements, including its second-place ranking nationally in State GST collection and per capita income.
The state’s agricultural advancements reflect its broader progress across multiple sectors, positioning it as a model for sustainable development.

The event concluded with the flagging off of Krishi Raths—mobile units designed to promote the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan across Tripura.
