Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched National Integrated Power Development Scheme IPDS in Varanasi on Sep 18. Addressing a public meeting on this occasion he said that 45 thousand crore rupees scheme will enlighten not only the people of Kashi but the entire urban population of the country.
This will insure 24 hours power supply to every house. Under IPDS Varanasi will get 572 crore rupees. To start the scheme in Varanasi foundation stone of two power sub station has been laid today. PM Modi said that IPDS is the beginning to make Varanasi a smart city. He also made an appeal to the people to use LED bulbs in order to reduce their electricity bills. Union Power Minister Piyush Goel also addressed the meeting and focused on IPDS in elaborate manner.
