Aiming to provide financial benefits to state government employees and pensioners, the state government of Tripura today declared a new pay and pension revision committee. Addressing a press conference at the state civil secretariat in Agartala today, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said a 3-member committee will make recommendations for the revision taking into considaration of all relevant factors.
The newly constituted pay and pension revision committee will be headed by Mr. G.K.Rao, IAS (retd.) as Chairman and Mr. Sushil Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Tripura and Mr. D. Modak, Addl. Secretary, Finance as members.
Manik Sarkar also said that the committee will make an estimate of the cost involved in implementing their recommendations and suggest sources of fund for meeting the additional expenditure required for implementation of the recommendations.
Chief Minister further added that the committee has been asked to submit its recommendations within 45 days from the date of notifications of its constitution. The recommendations shall cover one lakh 76 thousand Government employees and over 57 thousand pensioners. The pay revision of PSUs shall be separately examined by the committee.
Earlier, Tripura government had declared budgetary provision of 600 crore rupees for 2017-18 towards new pay scales for employees and pensioners.
