Apr 24,2017: Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari begins a five day two nation tour to Armenia and Poland from this afternoon. During the visit, Mr. Ansari will hold talks with top leaders of the two countries on a wide range of issues.
The visit of the vice president intends to further strengthen the cordial relation between the two countries, develop cooperation and partnership on shared common interest. Accompanied by a high level delegation, the Vice-President will reach the Armenian capital Yerevan this evening.
Mr. Ansari will hold talks with Armenian President Serzh Darshan, the Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and their Foreign Minister during his stay. He is also scheduled to deliver a lecture at Armenia State University. India is celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relationship with Armenia this year.
On his second leg of the journey Mr Ansari will be visiting Warsaw, Poland. There he will hold discussions with the Polish President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Senate.
His visit to Poland aims at further deepening the economic co-operation. India looks at Poland as potential trade partner as the bilateral trade between both the nations has increased by 25 percent within a period of one year.
