Apr 27,2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off Shimla-New Delhi flight, the maiden flight under government’s regional connectivity scheme Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN).
Prime Minister inaugurated the flight under the scheme by flagging off the Alliance Air’s flight on Shimla-Delhi sector from Jubbar Hatti airport near Shimla this morning. Mr Modi simultaneously launched flights on Kadapa-Hyderabad and Nanded-Hyderabad sectors under the scheme.
Prime Minister also laid foundation stone for Hydro Engineering College, which will be set up at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh. State Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Union Health & Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda and Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju were present on the occasion.
