July 22, 2017: India is collaborating with United States on research and development of traditional medicines for various diseases including cancer. In written reply to Lok Sabha yesterday, AYUSH Minster Shripad Yesso Naik said, for the first time India has successfully engaged with US in the field of traditional medicine.
An India-US workshop on traditional medicine with special focus on cancer was organized on March last year at New Delhi. A US team comprising of experts from National Cancer Institute took part in the two day exhaustive deliberations that have resulted into significant leads.
A productive bilateral dialogs with Department of Health and Human Services, National Institute of Health and National Cancer Institute team is ongoing. (AIR NEWS)
