Agartala, Aug 22 – In an attempt to enhance administrative efficiency and promote employment, the Tripura Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, approved the creation and filling of multiple posts across key departments as well as green signalled hikes in one-time grants under different projects for the Antyodaya families during a meeting held today.
The Cabinet also approved One-time financial grant under the “Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana” to be hiked from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 10,000 under the Education (Social Welfare & Social Education) Department.
The decisions align with the state government’s commitment to strengthening governance and service delivery as part of its vision for a ‘Viksit Tripura’ by 2047.
In a social media post, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha emphasized the government’s dedication to improving administrative frameworks and public services for the welfare of Tripura’s citizens.
“The present state government is committed to strengthening administration and service delivery for the people of Tripura. In today’s Cabinet meeting, key decisions were taken for the welfare of the state. These steps will boost efficiency, generate employment, and ensure better governance for a Viksit Tripura,” he stated.
Among the pivotal decisions, the Cabinet approved the creation of 45 posts of Senior Manager (Electrical) under the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) within the Power Department.
This move is expected to bolster the state’s power infrastructure, ensuring improved electricity management and service delivery across Tripura.
Besides, the Cabinet gave its nod to the filling of four vacant Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) positions under the Education (Social Welfare & Social Education) Department.

These appointments aim to strengthen the implementation of welfare programs, particularly, those focused on child development and social education, enhancing grassroots-level support for vulnerable communities.
The Law (Parliamentary Affairs) Department also saw approvals, with the creation of 25 posts across various categories.
These include one Process Server (Group-D) and one Driver (Group-C) position, aimed at improving operational efficiency within the department.
Hailing the decisions, local BJP leaders in Agartala said these new roles are expected to streamline administrative processes and support the state’s legal and parliamentary functions. The decisions reflect the government’s broader strategy to generate employment opportunities while enhancing the efficiency of critical sectors like power, education, and law.
“By creating and filling these posts, the state aims to address staffing needs, improve service delivery, and contribute to the economic and administrative development of Tripura. These initiatives are part of the larger ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ vision, which seeks to transform the state into a model of sustainable development and inclusive growth”, reliable sources said.
The Cabinet’s actions today mark a step forward in realizing this ambitious goal, ensuring that Tripura continues to progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, BJP sources commented.
