August 29 ,2017: In Maharashtra, nine coaches of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express derail near Asangaon in Maharashtra. Railway spokespersons Anil Saxena talking to AIR said eight AC coaches and the engine of Nagpur Mumbai Duronto Express, Train no 12290 derailed near Titwala station at 6:30 this morning. No reports of injuries or casualties have reported so far.
In a tweet, Railway stated that there are no injuries to any passengers and they are arranging buses to bring passengers to destination. Doctors and senior officials of Central Railway are already at site. Railway has issued Help lines for various stations – for Thane railway station helpline no is – 61290, 25334840, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus 55990, 22694040, Kalyan Junction 63360, 2311499, Dadar – 57086, 24114836 and for Nagpur Junction the no is 55943, 2564342.
Rescue operations, currently underway, have been hampered due to incessant rains. The rescue team have rushed from Kalyan. Train traffic movement between Mumbai and Nagpur has been affected. AIR correspondent reports, Kasara and Asangaon suburban trains are running up to Titwala only and Howrah Gitanjali Exp has been diverted via Kalyan-Panvel-Karjat-Pune-Daund and Manmad. (AIR NEWS)
