Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb over telephone on Friday and took stock of the latest COVID19 situation in Tripura. The Prime Minister also reviewed the preparedness.
Soon after the conversation with the Prime Minister, Deb tweeted that the Prime Minister had assured all possible support to Tripura in the fight against COVID19.
In the meantime, the Chief Minister accompanied by the officials concerned inspected a Covid Care facility set up at International Exhibition Hall, Hapania on Friday.
The new Covid Care centre would have 300 beds. The treatment facility in 200 beds has already started. Out of these 200 beds, 140 are Oxygen Concentrated Beds while 60 seats are recovery beds
Speaking to the media, Deb said the government was contemplating a plan so that the COVID patients get treatment within their respective districts. The government had already ensured COVID19 treatment facilities in every district, Deb added.
The Chief Minister also stated that the treatment of COVID19 patients in Jayanti block of GBP hospital with 221 beds would not disrupt other services of the hospital.
In the first wave, the OPD services in GBP hospital had to be closed. But, this time, Jayanti block was dedicatedly functioning for providing treatment to the Covid-infected patients. So, the other patients visiting GBP hospital need not to worry, Deb told the Media.
In this connection the Chief Minister also mentioned that a dedicated arrangement of 100-bed for Covid treatment had been set up at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Centre (ABV-RCC). However, as this facility is a separate arrangement, patients availing Cancer treatment need to worry.
On vaccination, Deb said that the state government was working with the goal to vaccinate maximum people in the shortest possible time. He also appealed to the people between the age groups of 45 and 60 years to take the vaccine at the earliest.
Deb also mentioned that the government had already placed orders for vaccine doses to two manufacturers for the vaccination of the people who fall in the age group of 18-44 years.
