Agartala, September 05, 2019: Along with the nation, 58th Teachers’ Day – which also marks birth anniversary of country’s second President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – was observed across Tripura. The main programme was held in Agartala. Organized by the State Education department, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the programme.
In his inaugural speech, the Chief Minister appealed to teachers to work for development of the State education sector. Referring to implementation of NCERT syllabus in schools, Biplab Kumar Deb said, the State government is endevouring sincerely to take the State to newer heights. He talked about corruption free administration and also focused upon State Government’s ‘transparent recruitment policy’.
Earlier, the Chief Minister went to Shishu Vihar HS School in Agartala and turned a teacher for a day. He interacted with students. He asked students about recently implemented NCERT syllabus in schools and students overwhelmingly supported the move. Paying rich tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Deb said, “One book, one pencil, one child and one teacher can change the world”.
