Agartala, September 08, 2019: If everything goes as per the plan, all kinds of heart surgeries will become possible in the state itself within a month. The state government decided to hire 12 Super Specialty doctors for Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery from outside the state on contract basis.
“The twelve super specialty doctors – all Doctorate in Medicine — will be hired on contract basis for 11 months. Eighty percent works for hiring the doctors already completed and for rest of the twenty percent, works are underway,” Education minister Ratanlal Nath told the Reporters.
“They will get Rs. 4 lakh each per month. Services in the super specialty unit which is non-functional presently will resume within one month,” he added. The presence of as many as 12 the cardio thoracic Vascular surgeons in the state is perhaps the most important decisions of the state government to not only offer best of heartcare services but also to arrest huge drainage of money from the state to outside.
Besides, it is expected that patients from Bangladesh who are not going to South India and other places will be interests to come here for heart surgery etc as the expenditure would less. It would also help boost the health tourism in the state.
