The three-member Central medical team – which is currently touring districts in Tripura – visited Dhalai District Hospital, Polytechnic Covid Center, Panchayati Raj Covid Center and Ambassa Bari Covid Center on Monday. Local sources said, the visit will bolster people’s confidence. It is believed the Team, during inspection, hailed the efforts of health personnel and suggested the district health officials to ensure treatment of most of the Covid patients at district facilities instead of referring the patients to Agartala.
According to local sources, as many as 834 persons were found Covid19 positive in September out of which 197 were from Ambassa. Accompanied by the DM, the team comprising Dr. Satyajit Sen, Regional Director, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Dr Daisy Panna and Dr PK Bhama visited the Covid19 treatment facilities and held discussions with the concerned health officials. The team also visited the Trauma Center. Sources claimed, the team suggested converting the Trauma Center into ICU in case of medical exigency. The team also stressed on treating the patients at the district-level facilities instead of sending them to Agartala.
After the visit of the Central Medical Team, local people are feeling that Covid19 treatment facilities will further improve at the CCCs in the district.
The Central Medical team visited Unakoti district on Sunday. Local sources said, number of Corona positive cases in Unakoti stands at 1178 and total nine persons died of the disease. According to reports, the Central team had discussions with the senior officials of the district administration. The Central team also visited the COVID Center at the district hospital and later, visited the Kumarghat COVID Center. During their visit, Team members talked to doctors, co-workers and patients maintaining social distance. However, the team members were tight lipped and refrained from making statements to media. Meanwhile, Corona situation is increasingly becoming serious due to reckless attitude of common people, particularly negligence in maintaining social distancing, local sources said.
