Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha has completed one year in office, and he has been overwhelmed with greetings and good wishes from his cabinet colleagues, high officials, party leaders, and people across social media platforms.
Dr. Saha, who took office on May 15 last year (2022), became the Chief Minister of Tripura after Biplab Kumar Deb was removed from the post. Dr. Saha had led the Bharatiya Janata Party to victory in the previous assembly elections, and he began his second term as the Chief Minister on March 8th this year.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by high-profile leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP chief J.P. Nadda.
During Dr. Saha’s tenure, Tripura has experienced significant advancements in maintaining law and order.
Notably, the recent assembly elections were conducted with fairness, freedom, and peacefulness, reflecting a remarkable achievement given the region’s historical context.
Under Dr. Saha’s leadership, the government has successfully implemented a range of developmental initiatives, benefiting the people of Tripura.
Key achievements under Dr. Saha’s administration include raising the social pension to Rs. 2000, ensuring the recruitment of all qualified candidates in the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test), providing a 17 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) increase to government employees, establishing a Dental College, launching the ‘Amar Sarkar’ web portal, organizing the first S20 event within the G20 framework, establishing a smart training center as part of the Digital Tripura initiative, introducing the ‘Prati Ghore Sushasan’ campaign for improved governance, and signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new medical college in the Dhalai district.
In addition to these developmental initiatives, Tripura has witnessed significant progress in connectivity and highway infrastructure under Dr. Saha’s leadership.
In response to the Chief Minister’s directives, the Tripura Police has formed a Special Task Force with jurisdiction across the state to combat organized criminal groups.
Dr. Saha has also taken proactive measures to strengthen the fight against drugs, addressing a critical issue affecting the region.
Expressing his dedication to the welfare of Tripura, Dr. Saha tweeted his commitment to work under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build an ‘Unnata Tripura, Shreshta Tripura’ – a prosperous and thriving Tripura.
The people of Tripura have demonstrated their confidence in Dr. Saha’s leadership by voting the BJP to power for a second term.
