Accessible Healthcare for All: Tripura CM highlights progress in medical education and services

The Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare for all. 

Inaugurating an event commemorating the 18th Foundation Day celebration of Tripura Medical College (TMC) held at Hapania in Agartala, he underscored the significance of this objective. The programme was organized by TMC & Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital on Sunday

A notable highlight of the event was the Chief Minister inaugurating the newly-constructed Vivekananda auditorium at the college premises and unveiling a statue of Swami Vivekananda.

The event also saw Dr Manik Saha recognizing and awarding several MBBS students for their outstanding academic achievements.

During his address, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of establishing a trauma care center at Tripura Medical College. He affirmed that the state government has already undertaken various initiatives to advance the college's growth and development.

Dr. Saha, in his statement, highlighted the establishment of essential healthcare institutions such as the Medical College, Dental College, and Nursing College in Tripura. He articulated the vision of transforming the state into a medical hub to cater to the healthcare needs of the region.

In a major development, Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital have introduced nine super-specialty services, Dr. Saha pointed out. 

Besides, plans are underway to establish another Medical College in Ambassa, located in the Dhalai district, using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Today's event was graced by the presence of various dignitaries including Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ram Prasad Paul, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar - Swami Suvakarananda Maharaj, Principal of Tripura Medical College Arindam Dutta, CEO Swapan Saha, and Chairman Dr. Pramatesh Roy, among other distinguished guests.
