Buy locally produced goods for growth of local economy, says Tripura CM

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb urged the people to take lead role for the growth of local economy and to buy local products. Keeping parity with the Prime Minister’s vision, ‘Vocal for local’, Deb exhorted people of the State buy and use locally produced goods which would bolster local economy during the pandemic time. In a social media post, Deb made this appeal on Sunday.

Deb said, “The Prime Minister has raised a slogan – Vocal for local. This implies support for local products”. The Chief Minister further said, Covid19 induced crisis has opened doors to new opportunities to become Atmanirbhar.

He said, “I appeal to people of the State, at this crucial juncture, every one of us needs to play a role for the development of local economy. Purchase and use local goods. State Government is striding forward to make the State ‘Atmanirbhar Tripura’. This can be successful with total participation of people of the State”.

In this connection, Deb praised the quality of garments produced in Tripura. “In terms of quality, garments produced in our State by our mothers and sisters are not lagging behind than garments produced elsewhere. Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of our State are producing high quality products which are less costly. I am overwhelmed”.

Strongly pitching for locally made goods, the Chief Minister said, economy of the State will be improved if we keep on purchasing and using these products. With an improved local economy, we will become Atmanirbhar Bharat, he commented.
