Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, emphasized the importance of government officers in ensuring successful implementation of development programs.
During the Civil Service Award- 2023 program held at Prajna Bhavan on Friday, the Chief Minister applauded the role of the state’s employees. He suggested the officers to work collectively as a family to ensure that people receive all the benefits of welfare schemes.
Dr. Saha also expressed his appreciation for the sincere and responsible efforts of government officers and employees, which have contributed to progress in all fields in Tripura. As part of the program, various departments, districts, blocks, gazetted officers, and non-gazetted officers were awarded in various categories. The Chief Minister congratulated all the recipients.
The program was also attended by Chief Secretary Dr. J.K. Sinha, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest K.S. Sethi, Special Secretary Dr. Sandeep R. Rathod, Principal Secretary Puneet Agarwal, Secretary B.S. Mishra, and Secretary Abhishek Singh.
The event served as a reminder of the vital role that government officers play in ensuring the welfare of citizens and promoting development in their respective regions. The awards presented also highlighted the importance of recognizing and appreciating outstanding performance in various fields within the public sector.
Award recipients :
This year, Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) under Rural Development Department bagged the ‘best department’ award for its outstanding efforts in empowering women through Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Education and IT departments secured the ‘second best department’ awards for implementing Vidya Jyoti Schools Scheme and Beneficiary Management System (BMS). The third ‘best department’ award has been secured by the Forest department.
Sepahijala and South Tripura districts jointly bagged the ‘best department’ award for outstanding performance in implementing various central schemes including MGNREGA, PMAY-Rural and Swachcha Bharat Mission as well as other projects at panchayat level.
Unakoti district has been awarded as the second best district.
In the category of blocks, Hrishyamukh, Tepania and Ambassa blocks have been awarded.
Former District Magistrate of Sepahijala- Viswashree B. and District Programme Officer of Social Welfare and Social Education department- Dr. Chandrani Biswas jointly secured ‘best gazetted officer’ award for their roles in implementing Diya Bati, an innovative scheme that seeks to help and support underprivileged, hapless and vulnerable children for their overall growth.
District Magistrate, Dhalai- Govekar Mayur Ratilal, district programme coordinator, will also get the award for proper utilization of funds under MGNREGA. Besides, Chief Medical Officer of Dhalai district Dr. Chitan Debbarma and Dhalai district officer of Aspirational District Programme- Gidan Molsom will also get Chief Minister’s Civil Service Awards.
Addl. SP (Rural), West Tripura- Priya Madhuri Majumder will be awarded for her special role in the anti-drugs campaign.
Three more gazetted officers- District Magistrate, North Tripura- Nagesh Kumar B., DFO Khowai Dr. Niraj Kumar Chanchal and Deputy Director of the Planning department Nandukumar Panikkar will also receive the award.
The non-gazetted officers who will get the awards are- UDC Bidyut Hossain (Revenue department), Village Secretary of Rongmala ADC Village under Charilam Block- Bijoy Debbarma and Fishery Assistant of Kathalia Block- Suprabha Dey.
