Corona Night curfew extended, expanded to all ULBs in Tripura

Concerned and worried at the rapidly increasing COVID19 cases, the Tripura government has announced extension of Night Curfew duration and expansion to areas under all the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) across the State.  Corona Night Curfew will remain in force from 6 pm to 5 am in all ULBs in the state with effect from Tuesday next (May 4 next).

 

Education minister and cabinet spokesperson Ratanlal Nath has announced this in a press conference at State Guest House in Agartala on Sunday night.

 

Nath also said, all the government offices would now function from 10 am to 4 pm with attendance of 50 percent non-gazetted employees and all gazetted officers. But, they have to attend the office in case of urgency. He said the detailed guidelines on the decisions would be issued on Monday.

 

Speaking to the media, Nath said COVID19 tests would be conducted in all shops and government offices across the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) area.

 

With rise in Covid cases in Tripura, Government is looking into possible crisis of doctors. In that connection, he also came out with an important announcement the state government is contemplating a plan to appoint 100 MBBS Doctors and Nurses on priority basis. Besides, an initiative is being taken to recruit more Doctors through TPSC on regular pay – however, this process would take time, Nath said.

 

Principal Secretary (Health)- J.K. Sinha, Secretary to ICA department P.K. Goyal and Tripura Mission Director of NHM Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal remained present in the press conference.

 

Meanwhile, the state has recorded 247 new positive cases out of 5318 samples tested and one more patient succumbed to COVID19 on Sunday, a media bulletin said.  The media bulletin also said that 62 patients had recovered.

 

Notably, the State Government is periodically monitoring the situation and holding review meeting so that any medical exigency can be met efficiently and cater patients.
