One bank official of IDBI Bank got involved in a heated argument with Covid protocol Enforcement Team at Udaipur in Tripura on Friday last and is now facing action against him for violation of Covid norms. The bank official who is an Assistant Manager of IDBI Bank of Killa Branch under Udaipur also had an altercation with media persons accompanying the Enforcement Team.
In view of his behavior, the SDM of Udaipur wrote a letter to the Lead District Manager, Punjab National Bank of Udaipur Branch and urged to take appropriate action against the IDBI official, Kundan Prasad otherwise the administration would take actions against Prasad.
In the letter, the SDM wrote, one Kundan Prashad, Assistant Manager, IDBI Bank, Killa Branch was fined a penalty of Rs.200 only for not wearing masks in a public place. But Prasad was involved in a verbal tussle with the Dy. Chief Executive Officer, UMC as well as a few media personnel who were present at the spot regarding some unnecessary arguments like to explain the benefit of using masks, to show the official order of the State Government regarding the enforcement activity etc.
“The said Kundan Prashad was also involved in serious debate with the Press/Media personnel, regarding some facts that according to him the masks enforcement activity was only fill up the Government exchequer, the State Government has done nothing during COVID-19 pandemic etc.”, the SDM wrote.
Referring to Bank Official’s verbal tussle, the SDM also mentioned, the situation turned so much chaotic that he had to rush in the spot to tackle the situation. “In this connection, I would like to request you to kindly take appropriate action against the employee of IDBI Bank, Killa Branch with intimation to this office, failing which the undersigned may be compelled to take action by virtue of powers conferred under Regulation 13 of the Tripura Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020, as well as under Disaster Management Act. 2005”.
