Tripura has administered the first dose of Covid Vaccines to over 50 per cent eligible teenagers of age 15-18 years, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday.
“I am pleased to inform everyone that we have administered first dose of the vaccine to more than 50 % children across the state”, Deb said.
The State government launched a three-day special Covid Vaccination drive across the State on January 18 last. Out of the total 21,3000 eligible teens of age 15-18 years, 10,6710 teenagers, 50.1 percent of the total beneficiaries, got the first dose of the vaccine.
According to the district wise break-up, so far, the North District has come up on top with a 54.48 per cent vaccination. Out of the total 23,430 beneficiaries, 12,764 teens have received the first jab.
Closely behind, Unakoti district is in the second position and a total of 9034 teens have been vaccinated out of 17040 beneficiaries – a total of 53.02 percent vaccination.
Sepahijala district has administered first dose of the vaccine to 14609 out of 27690 beneficiaries with a 52.76 per cent vaccination rate.
A total of 13340 teens have been vaccinated in the South Tripura district out of 25560 children of age 15-18 years with 52.19 percent coverage.
West district recorded 49.21 percent vaccination as 26203 beneficiaries out of the total 53250 have received the first jab.
Dhalai district has administered the first dose among 10234 teens out of a total 21300 children with a 48.05 vaccination.
Gomati and Khowai district administered first dose of Covid vaccines to 11851 out of 25560 teens (46.37 percent) and 8675 out of 19170 children (45.25 percent).
