The Tripura Government has accorded high priority in administering Covid19 vaccines among over 2 lakh teens of the State under the Special Vaccination drive. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and other Ministers and public representatives toured around Special Vaccine Centres at different places on Thursday.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb visited special Covid-19 vaccination campaigns for the teenagers of age 15-18 years in different areas under Gomati district on Thursday. The Vaccination initiative is being conducted as a part of the State-wide three-day special Covid-19 vaccination drive.
Tourism Minister and Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh, Director of School Education department Chandni Chandran, and Gomati DM R. H Kumar accompanied the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister called upon the guardians of beneficiaries of the said age group to encourage their children for taking the jabs. The vaccinations are being given in different schools and nearby Health Centres.
He visited three vaccination centres namely, Bhagini Nivedita Girls Higher Secondary School, Kirit Bikram Institute and Matabari Higher Secondary School in Gomati district today.
It is to be noted that all the students of 15-18 years studying in Matabari Higher Secondary School have been vaccinated during the 3-day special vaccination drive.
The Chief Minister interacted with the students who were taking jabs in the Health Centres. He also spoke to the school teachers. The students thanked the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for arranging such vaccination drives. The Chief Minister also visited Tripureswari Temple and offered prayers for the welfare of people.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma also toured around special Covid vaccination centres in Bishalgarh sub-divisions under Sepahijala today. Encouraging students to get the vaccines he said, students need to understand that getting vaccinated will keep them and their families safe and healthy.
The state government has taken up various steps for improving the quality of education and establishing themselves in life. Presently, the rate of Covid-19 infection in the state is increasing which is why the students have to be careful. The Deputy Chief Minister visited the vaccination centres in Bishalgarh English Medium School, Charilam Higher Secondary School and Bishramganj High School.
Information & Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury visited Covid-19 vaccination centres in Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Belonia Higher Secondary Girls School and Arya Colony Higher Secondary School in Belonia sub-division today.
He was accompanied by MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik, Chairman of Belonia Municipal Council Nikhil Chandra Gope, President of health-related Standing Committee of Belonia Municipal Council Anupam Chakraborty, President of culture-related Standing Committee Biswanath Das, Chief Health Officer of South Tripura district Jagadish Namah and District education Officer Lakshman Chandra Das and others.
During his visit, the Minister said, the state government has taken special initiative to vaccinate 2 lakh 13 thousand youngsters of 15-18 years among which already 42% of them have been vaccinated.
