Dhalai District leads Tripura in full immunization coverage

In a remarkable public health achievement, Dhalai District has emerged as the frontrunner in full immunization coverage among the eight districts of Tripura.

The district has set a benchmark with an impressive 101.81% coverage rate, surpassing the state's overall performance.

The District Magistrate (DM) and Collector's Office of Dhalai District announced this milestone through X, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare workers and community members whose unwavering dedication made this feat possible.

"Kudos to our dedicated healthcare heroes and community members for making this possible! Let's keep up the great work in prioritizing health for all," the statement read.

A detailed graph released by the DM's office illustrates the full immunization coverage status from April 2023 to January 2024 across Tripura.

Close on its heels is North Tripura District with 101.76%, followed by Sepahijala District at 101.17%, and Unakoti District securing the fourth spot with 100.24% coverage during the specified period.

The report also sheds light on the immunization efforts of the other four districts. 

West Tripura District achieved a coverage of 94.87%, Khowai District followed with 92.55%, Gomati District at 92.53%, and South Tripura District at 92.46%.

Overall, the state of Tripura has demonstrated commendable progress with an average immunization coverage of 97.13%. 

Notably, the incumbent Government in Tripura accorded priority in expanding healthcare accessibility and the well-being of its residents.

While the Government is stressing on harnessing infrastructural facilities in rural areas, it is also working on improving healthcare facilities in district and sub-divisional hospitals so that people can easily access the health care facilities.

"The success of Dhalai District depicts the commitment of the health workers and relentless efforts of the Government to improve the health sector", opined an Agartala based health official on condition of anonymity.
