Distinction between Govt, party was blurred during LF regime, says Tripura CM

During the left rule, the difference between party and government was blurred. Practically, the party (Melarmath) used to run the government, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at a party programme in the city on Friday said.

“After the change came in March 2018, the people of Tripura have realized the differences between BJP and other parties. Earlier, the people were not familiar with government, administration and digitization following the influence of the cadre-based party,” Deb said after inaugurating Bordwali Mandal office.

He said that the people had a common belief during the left rule that their works would not get done without the party’s clearance since the DCMs and the LCMs were carrying all powers. Even, there was no importance of the MLAs and MPs. But the situation had changed soon after the formation of the BJP-IPFT government, he added.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister also spoke on the achievements of the government in the past two-and-half years. He also said that the Tripura Government would construct one thousand Light Houses in Agartala. "The Light Houses would be constructed at Ramnagar area and the flats would be offered at subsidized rates. The project would be implemented with the financial assistance of the Central Government", Deb said.

BJP state president Dr. Manik Saha, state secretary Papiya Datta and other party men were present in the Mandal office opening ceremony.
