Egiye Chalo Clinches Chandra Memorial Championship, Bloodmouth Club Secures Runner-Up Spot

In a thrilling conclusion to the Chandra Memorial League football tournament, Egiye Chalo Sangha once again asserted their dominance, clinching the championship title for the fourth consecutive time with a commanding 4-0 victory over Ramkrishna Club in the final match of the Super Four at the Umakanta Mini Stadium on Thursday. Bloodmouth Club, meanwhile, secured the runner-up position with a spirited 4-2 win over Lalbahadur Vyayamnagar in their final Super Four encounter today.

Egiye Chalo Sangha’s Triumph

Egiye Chalo Sangha demonstrated their superiority from the very outset against Ramkrishna Club, controlling the tempo of the match with calculated attacks and strategic plays. Within just 12 minutes, Rajendra Singh skillfully headed in a corner kick delivered by Satyam, giving Egiye Chalo an early 1-0 lead.

Despite an opportunity for Ramkrishna’s Surokhom Bai to level the match, which he squandered in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, Egiye Chalo maintained their momentum. Shyam Kumar’s pinpoint crossing from the goal line found Milan Singh, who made no mistake in doubling the lead with a well-placed shot, leaving Ramkrishna’s defense helpless.

Chandra-memorial-Football-Tripura-Egiye-Chalo-ChampEgiye Chalo’s dominance continued as Debashish Rai dribbled past multiple defenders and the goalkeeper to slot home the third goal before halftime, further extending their lead to 3-0.

In the second half, Egiye Chalo Sangha continued to control the game, with players like Gobindas and Sana Singh coming close to adding to their tally. However, it was Naisa who delivered the final blow in injury time, scoring the fourth goal after receiving a precise pass from Peter giving Egiye Chalo Sangha 4-0 victory which, once again, showcased Egiye Chalo’s meticulously planned and dynamic performance throughout the tournament.

With this victory, Egiye Chalo Sangha finished the Super Four with 7 points from 3 matches, sealing their place as champions for the fourth time.

Rajendra Singh, the standout performer of the final, was named the best player of the match, while Debashish Rai shared the top scorer award of the Super Four with Lalbahadur's Richard, both having scored 3 goals each. Additionally, Bloodmouth Club's Javed Darlong was awarded the best player of the Super Four for his consistent performances.

Bloodmouth Club’s Runner-Up Finish

In a gripping earlier encounter, Bloodmouth Club faced off against Lalbahadur Vyayamnagar, knowing that only a victory would secure the runner-up position for them. Abu Taher’s Bloodmouth did not disappoint, delivering an impressive 4-2 win to end the Super Four with 4 points from 3 matches.

Bloodmouth started the match with purpose and took the lead in the 9th minute when Bobish powered a free-kick from 12 yards out past Lalbahadur's goalkeeper Idu Miah. Bloodmouth’s intensity did not wane, and they soon doubled their lead through Changte in the 18th minute. Bobish then added a spectacular long-range goal from 25 yards just before halftime, putting Bloodmouth in complete control with a 3-0 lead.

Despite the scoreline, Lalbahadur mounted a spirited comeback in the second half, with Shanti Kumar Singh heading in a goal in the 12th minute to reduce the deficit to 3-1. Richard added another goal in the 27th minute, making it 3-2 and raising hopes of a possible comeback. However, Bloodmouth quickly dashed those hopes when Naresh scored from a Jisu’s center in the 31st minute, securing a 4-2 victory for his side.

Bobish’s stellar performance, highlighted by his two goals, earned him the man-of-the-match award. While Lalbahadur fought valiantly, Bloodmouth’s consistent performance and tactical discipline saw them finish second in the Super Four standings.
