Fresh COVID-19 cases identified in 4 Districts of Tripura, One dead

After a long gap, Covid fatality is reported in Tripura on Wednesday (May 24). The death of a Covid-infected individual raised concerns among health authorities and once again, it reminded necessity of adhering to some of the basic Covid protocols.

 

Over the past 24 hours, while one person succumbed to Covid, a total of eight new cases of coronavirus have been detected, and an equal number of patients successfully overcome the disease. This translates to a daily infection rate of 1.31 percent, with one unfortunate fatality. Currently, there are 44 active cases in the State.

 

Covid-death-TripuraThe latest update from the health department, as conveyed through their media bulletin, stated that out of 610 individuals tested in the past day, seven underwent RT-PCR testing while 603 opted for Rapid Antigen Testing. Among these tests, eight individuals tested positive for the coronavirus.

 

Consequently, the current daily infection rate stands at 1.31 percent. On a positive note, eight patients have also recovered, bringing some relief amidst the growing concerns. Presently, there are 44 active cases of COVID-19 in Tripura.

 

Since the onset of the pandemic, a staggering total of 108,238 people in a small State, Tripura were infected with the coronavirus. Among these cases, 107,187 individuals have successfully recovered from the infection, leading to a commendable recovery rate of 99.03 percent.

 

However, the state continues to face a grim reality with a 0.87 percent death rate, resulting in the unfortunate loss of 938 lives to date. The overall infection rate in Tripura emphasizes the ongoing challenges faced by the community.

 

Further details shared in the health department's bulletin revealed that, within the past 24 hours, two individuals in Khowai district, two in Dhalai district, three in the North district, and one in the South district tested positive for the coronavirus. Meanwhile, there have been no reported cases in the remaining four districts, offering a glimmer of hope in an otherwise concerning situation.

 

The recent death of a COVID-19 patient in Tripura serves as a poignant reminder of the persistent threat posed by the virus. The re-emergence Covid prevalence, albeit in small numbers, necessitates increased vigilance and adherence to preventive measures.
