Guv Welcomes Chhattisgarh Media Team to Tripura, highlights State's peaceful environment, progress

A 14-member team of journalists from Chhattisgarh is currently visiting Tripura to explore the state's rich natural and cultural heritage, as well as to understand its development trajectory. Organized under the auspices of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the media delegation will tour various development projects and heritage sites across Tripura until Sunday.

As part of their visit, the team met with Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday. During the interaction, the Governor warmly welcomed the journalists and commended their efforts in fostering cross-regional understanding through journalism.

The Governor also took the opportunity to listen to the journalists' experiences from their first few days in Tripura.

Highlighting Tripura’s peaceful environment and rapid progress, Governor Reddy Nallu emphasized the state’s advancements in education, healthcare, and tourism. He shared his vision for developing Tripura as a tourism hub, pointing out the untapped potential of the Gomati River for tourism-related activities.

He also spoke about the state's thriving rubber, bamboo, and agarwood industries, which have helped build Tripura's reputation as an emerging economic center in the region. The Governor praised the 19 tribal communities of the state for their agricultural expertise and the progress they have made, even in the hilly regions.

Present at the meeting were key officials including Ramesh Jaybhai, Deputy Director of PIB Raipur, Shubhasis Chanda, Deputy Director of PIB Agartala, and Kunal V. Sindhe, News Editor at All India Radio and Doordarshan News in Agartala.

As part of their third day in Tripura, the visiting journalists toured the Bamboo and Cane Development Institute, where they examined projects under the National Bamboo Mission. They also visited the Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate, where they observed the operations of the rubber and bamboo parks managed by TIDC, gaining insights into the region's growing rubber and bamboo-based industries.

The visit is expected to give the media delegation an in-depth understanding of Tripura's cultural wealth and its development initiatives, which they will share with audiences in Chhattisgarh and beyond.
