'Heights of duplicity' : Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma takes jibe at Rahul Gandhi

Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, following the recent Supreme Court decision granting relief in the 'Modi surname' defamation case.

Taking to Twitter, Sarma expressed his disapproval, stating, "The heights of duplicity! You criticize the judiciary when you face conviction, yet when the same judiciary offers you bail, you claim justice has triumphed."

The rift between the Assam Chief Minister and Rahul Gandhi dates back to 2015 when the latter transitioned from the Congress party to the BJP. Sarma's disapproval of Gandhi's actions remains evident.

Sarma did not shy away from targeting Rahul Gandhi during the "Bharat Jodo" yatra organized by the Congress party.

In a veiled attack, Sarma asserted, "Our nation does not require a 'Bharat Jodo' campaign as we presently thrive as a united India. The division occurred only once in 1947, giving rise to Pakistan, and it was Rahul Gandhi's Congress party that played a role in this partition."

Sarma went on to suggest that Rahul Gandhi should consider conducting the yatra in Pakistan, thereby contributing to an undivided India before the partition.

Labeling the "Bharat Jodo" yatra as the "comedy of the century," the Assam Chief Minister made his dissatisfaction with the event abundantly clear. (Edited)
