IACM's Annual Conclave in Agartala: Tripura CM highlights advances in clinical practice
The 29th annual conference of the Indian Association of Clinical Medicine (IACM) was held at the International Indoor Exhibition Center in Agartala on Friday. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha.
In his inaugural speech, the Chief Minister said that the IACM is doing commendable work in the development of the medical field. He said that the conference would provide a platform for medical professionals to discuss their intellectual capabilities, innovations, and joint initiatives. More than 30 eminent doctors from across the country will be participating in the conference to discuss their contributions and knowledge to the medical field.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister's vision has brought about a revolutionary change in the health care sector through the successful implementation of programs such as Mission Indradhanush, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, etc. He expressed hope that such welfare policies would be reflected in every such conference of medical professionals.
He said that when we take any new initiative to develop the health care system of the state, we should keep the national picture in mind. Because only through the joint initiative of the health care professionals and the government can we build a healthier and more stable future for Tripura and the country.
Finally, he encouraged all the participants to actively participate in the discussions and to work together by sharing their experiences. He called upon everyone to work together so that the joint initiative would benefit not only the state but also the doctors and citizens of the country.
In addition to the Chief Minister, other speakers at the event included former IACM President Professor (Dr.) Sukumar Mukherjee, IACM National President Dr. KK Parikh, and IACM Conference Scientific Committee Chairman Dr. HS Pathak. IACM General Secretary Dr. Suresh Kushwaha presented a report on the association's activities. The welcome speech was delivered by the chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, Professor (Dr.) Pradip Bhumik. The vote of thanks was delivered by the editor of the organizing committee, Professor (Dr.) Devprasad Chakraborty.
The association honored Professor (Dr.) Sukumar Mukherjee and Professor ZL Avasti with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Chief Minister presented them with medals and certificates. The association also honored doctors for their outstanding work in the health care sector.
An updated book on clinical medicine and a souvenir were released at the event. The three-day conference will continue till November 26.
