Jiten lashes out at BJP and Cong, casts doubt over LF-Cong understanding in Tripura

Jiten-Tripura-CPIM-BJP-CongressTripura State secretary of CPI-M, Jitendra Chowdhury lashed out at BJP and Congress-led Central governments for favouring the corporate sectors.

Launching twin verbal attacks, the CPI-M State Secretary blamed the incumbent Modi-led government for favouring Adani-Advani and late Indira Gandhi-led previous Congress government for the giving facilities to Tata, Birla and Singhania.

The CPI-M State Secretary was speaking at a public rally in Sonamura on Monday.

Chowdhury’s blasting, especially against Late Indira Gandhi, came up in the backdrop of Congress MLA of Tripura Sudip Roy Barman’s call for Left Front’s support to Congress in ousting BJP from power at a recent rally at Sonamura assumes significance as it adds doubts on any open understanding between the Left Front and Congress in Tripura in near future.

In a hard-hitting speech, Chowdhury said, BJP would not be able to run for a long time – just as Hitler, Tojo and Indira Gandhi could not continue to rule. He also criticized the BJP government and alleged the incumbent government is demolishing the democracy, constitution, secularism and Federal structure of the country.

enewstime-Jiten-Tripura-CPIM-BJP-CongressChowdhury also slammed the PM Modi-led central government for its ‘failure’ in bringing the black money as was promised by BJP leaders before 2014 LS Polls. In the same tune, Chowdhury fired verbal salvos at the State BJP leaders for ‘non-implementation’ of poll promises made before the 2018 State Assembly Polls.

Turning his focus on Tripura, Chowdhury said the youths of the State are in dire situation owing to addiction which is increasingly during the last four-and-half years of BJP rule in the State.

“Several leaders have already quit BJP and many more are expected to leave the saffron camp after the Puja”, Chowdhury predicted. He also pointed out attacks on CPM workers and leaders in Sonamura sub-division as well as in other parts of the State.

“Prior to the 2018 Assembly Polls, BJP came up with lofty statements like same government in Centre and State will ensure speedy growth and development of the State. In reality, people are riddled with multiple problems and are under severe economic distress. People are losing patience and the anger will snowball into intensified agitations”, Chowdhury said.

He also made references to attacks on CPI-M workers and leaders in Sonamura sub-division and other parts of the State. He fumed at the role of a section of Police and Administrative Officers.
