Kanchenjunga Exp rams car of Ayurvedic doctor in Tripura, doctor critical
An Ayurvedic doctor on his way to a vaccine session site met a severe accident after his car collided with Kolkata bound Kanchanjunga express on Saturday morning at Jirania in Tripura. Sources said he had been given posting at Kanchanmala primary health centre and he left home for his workplace.
According to sources the incident took place at the railway tracks that were just a kilometer away from his residence located at Ram Durga Sardar Para. The road was not an official one and thus there were no crossing gates at that point.
People of these areas used to take the shortcut to reach the highway evading a long route, OC Jirania Babul Das said. According to him, the car stopped after reaching the tracks and all its doors were locked leaving no chance for Debbarma to come out. T
he speeding train crushed the vehicle and Debbarma sustained critical injuries. He was then rushed to the Jirania sub-divisional hospital for treatment but noticing his critical condition the on-duty doctors referred him to GB Pant hospital for better medical attendance.
According to sources, Debbarma is still under observation and not out of danger completely. As per the Akashbani Agartala report, he was referred to outside State Hospital for better treatment.
