An overwhelming atmosphere of enthusiasm and intellectual engagement prevailed as the day-long All Tripura Mega Quiz-2024, organized by Tripurainfo.com, unfolded with resounding success on Sunday at Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala.
Marked by spontaneous participation, exceptional knowledge displays, and an electrifying energy that lasted throughout the day, the event offered a memorable blend of competition and entertainment.
Distinguished attendees, including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Justice Arindam Lodh of the Tripura High Court, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury joined in to witness the infotainment spectacle.
The event began with a screening test to shortlist teams of two participants each. While contestants eagerly awaited their chance to advance to the main round, the organizers kept the audience engaged with an interactive round featuring thought-provoking questions.
This audience segment highlighted the enthusiasm of young participants, as school and college students, along with their parents, took on challenging science and general knowledge questions.
A standout moment came when a young girl not only answered a question on music correctly but also performed the song on stage, receiving applause from the crowd.
A typical science-based question on Schrodinger’s cat experiment revealed the depth of knowledge of school and college students.
As the main quiz commenced, the teams dove into an intense competition, showcasing their knowledge, passion, and quick thinking.
Five teams emerged to compete in the final round after a rigorous elimination process, with each team vying for the top spot amid high anticipation from the audience, who awaited their own chances to win attractive prizes.
In a touching tribute, Tripurainfo.com honored three respected personalities of Tripura—Retired IGP Arindam Nath, entrepreneur Kanak Jain, and business figure Sujon Krishna Roy—who had supported the event in previous years.
A minute of silence was observed in their memory, followed by a cricket question posed to the audience in honor of the late Kanak Jain, an avid cricket enthusiast. A student confidently answered, winning a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. Another participant took on a hospitality-related question and earned an overnight stay at Agartala's five-star Polo Towers.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha commended Tripurainfo.com for their initiative, remarking, "The quiz program is filled with a variety of questions spanning knowledge and science. Every year, this event attracts inquisitive minds of all ages. This year, Tripura Info Mega Quiz marks its 19th edition, continuing as the state’s most popular quiz competition."
Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar also praised the organizers, encouraging young participants to broaden their knowledge beyond the classroom and stay informed on critical global and national issues, such as unemployment.
Sekhar Dutta, Chief Editor of Tripurainfo.com, explained the broader mission of the event: "The Tripurainfo Mega Quiz aims to create a vibrant platform for youth and students to exchange knowledge, stimulate intellectual growth, and experience constructive entertainment throughout the day."
Ultimately, the duo of Chirag Majumder and Dikshit Biswas clinched the top spot, with Parthapratim Bhattacharjee and Pritam Ghosh coming in second, and Sakhyar Dutta Majumder and Anirban Kar finishing third.
