A delegation of the Tripura Bar Association will meet law minister Ratan Lal Nath very soon to seek his intervention in ensuring safety and security of lawyers in the Court premises. The matter of recent attacks on the lawyers at West Tripura district court premises will be also brought into the notice of the minister, Tripura Bar Association’s president Mrinal Kanti Biswas said.
Briefing the media after a day long general meeting of the Bar association also said, “we have decided to raise our voice in support of the victims of this attack. Bar will stand beside them if the lawyers move the High Court of Tripura for better investigation of the case. We will also take initiatives to ensure that as to how the victims get justice and prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the Court premises”.
Biswas also said, the meeting began in mourning as five active members of the Bar passed away during the pandemic situation. Advocate Samrat Kar Bhowmik and Advocate Harekrishna Bhowmik have been given the responsibility to select the members of the delegation that would meet the law minister who was also a member of the Bar.
