LS Poll campaign in Tripura: CPIM slams BJP's 'Anti-People' Policies, Pradyot's alliance with saffron party
The INDIA bloc nominee from the East Tripura LS seat Rajendra Reang, crisscrossed the Amarpur and Korbook sub-divisions during his campaign on Saturday slamming the BJP and its alleged discriminatory stance on religion. Reang minced no words as he dissected the BJP’s policies, exposing what he deemed as “anti-people” measures. But it was his scathing critique of Pradyot Kishore Debbarma’s alliance with the saffron party which he termed as the dirty politics.
Addressing a gathering at Natunbazar today Rajendra Reang along with CPIM State secretary Jitendra Choudhury and party’s State Committee leader Naresh Jamatia urged the indigenous people to ensure the BJP’s defeat for the overall development of indigenous people, society and the country.
The CPIM leaders launched a blistering assault on the BJP’s policies. Their focus zeroed in on the BJP’s ‘discriminatory’ stance, which they argued was threatening the very fabric of democracy. Reang implored citizens to wield their sacred votes in favor of the INDIA Bloc candidate. For him, this was more than an election; it was a crusade against undemocratic forces.
Reang trained his guns on Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman. Reang questioned Deb Barman’s intention behind forging an alliance with the BJP and alleged personal gain trumped the welfare of Tripura’s indigenous communities. He also criticised the decision to field Deb Barman’s sister as the BJP’s candidate for East Tripura saying that it was a Dirty politics.
The Red Party leaders claimed disillusionment prevails among the indigenous people over the TIPRA Motha’s alliance with the BJP. Party sources claimed, 49 voters from 17 families, disenchanted with the TMP and officially joined the CPIM. Among them was a BJP’s Vice Chairman of the Block Advisory Committee (BAC). His defection underscored the disillusionment with the BJP’s tactics, CPIM leaders claimed.
CPIM supporters also rallied in Amarpur in support of Rajendra Reang. Addressing the supporters, Reang and other CPIM leaders promised justice, equity, and a return to the people-centric ethos if the INDIA Bloc candidates win.
