The State Government has decided to set up Solar High Mast Lighting systems in 19 towns across the State, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said during the inauguration of five projects under AMRUT 2.0 at Bhattapukur in Agartala on Monday.
He also said Rs 8 crore 45 lakh would be spent for installing the Solar High Mast Lighting systems.
Talking about other citizen service-related plans, the Chief Minister said Rs 50 crore was earmarked in Budget 2023-34 for setting up sewerage treatment plants in Agartala and other towns in Tripura. To attract more tourists and augment commercial activities in Kailashahar, a commercial facility will be constructed at an expenditure of Rs 10 crore, he said.
Dr Saha also mentioned about ‘Satellite Town Development Scheme’ proposed in the Budget 2023-24. The scheme will be implemented in Agartala, Udaipur and Dharmanagar. A total of Rs 500 crore will be spent on this Satellite Town Development Scheme in 5 years. For primary works, Rs 10 crore was allotted during the FY 2023-24., the Chief Minister said.
Dr Saha reiterated the present government has been working for the overall welfare of the people of the state since its assumption of office. Especially the government is working sincerely to fulfill the basic needs of the people.
During the previous communist government, only 3 percent of households were supplied with potable water. But with the relentless efforts of the current state government, it has been possible to reach drinking water to about 64 percent of homes.
The government is working to ensure that all the people of the state get drinking water. The present government of the state and the Municipal Corporation are working to fulfill the basic needs of the people.
