Strengthening Congress in Tripura: AICC Secretary Outlines New Strategy for Upcoming polls

Christopher Tilak, the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the newly appointed in-charge of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), embarked on a two-day visit to Tripura to evaluate the political landscape and strategize for the future. Tilak arrived in the state late on Tuesday evening, marking his first visit since taking charge of Congress affairs in Tripura.

Tilak convened a crucial meeting at the TPCC headquarters in Agartala on Wednesday.to engage with the state party leaders and discuss the organizational framework. The meeting was attended by key party figures, including TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha, and r MLAs Sudip Roy Barman and Gopal Chandra Roy, along with other party office bearers and functionaries. The discussions focused on the current political situation in Tripura and the organizational dynamics within the party.

AICC-Secretary-Tripura-CongressSpeaking to the media after the meeting, Tilak expressed his commitment to formulating a comprehensive roadmap for the Congress in Tripura over the next two to three years. "This is my first visit to Tripura, and I aim to devise a detailed strategy after thorough discussions with the party representatives," he commented.

Tilak underscored the need for crafting a strong and inclusive narrative that would resonate with all sections of Tripura's society, particularly the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), minorities, women, and youth. He emphasized that the economic challenges facing Tripura are significant and require urgent attention.

"I have observed that the economy of Tripura is deteriorating, and without sustainable economic growth, the state cannot achieve true prosperity," he added.

The new state in-charge further highlighted the importance of unity and effective coordination among party members to bolster the Congress party's position in Tripura. He expressed confidence that after the two-day discussions, he would be in a better position to provide more specific insights and direction for the party's future endeavors in the state.

According to the party sources, Tilak's visit is expected to strengthen the Congress party's footing in Tripura, especially with an eye on upcoming electoral challenges and the need to address the concerns of various communities in the state.
