Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has launched the state-level Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization and Swastha Tripura Shrestha Tripura, a special drive against Anaemia and Tuberculosis, at the Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala on Thursday.
Addressing the programme, Deb urged the health works to stay prepared to combat any outbreak of deadly disease and any situation like Covid pandemic.
“The staffs working in the Health department have to stay prepared always so that they can deal with any such situation”, Deb said.
The Chief Minister spoke on various initiatives taken by the state government over the past few for improving the health system.
He said the people of the state are now getting improved services even in case of critical cases within the state following a robust change in the healthcare sector.
The Chief Minister also said, the state government has a positive view on the demands of ASHA and Anganwadi workers. A section may instigate, but the truth is that there is no need of holding protest programmes to get any demand fulfilled at the present time – introduction of festival advance and bonus for the ASHA workers is a testimony of this, Deb said.
Deb sought cooperation from all to make the Pulse Polio Immunization drive and drive against Anaemia and Tuberculosis successful.
This special drive against Anaemia and Tuberculosis will start from 2nd March next. The state government is committed to bring up every child in the state in a physically and mentally healthy way.
Meanwhile, all NQAS-certified facilities were felicitated during the launching of IPPI & Swasth Tripura Shresth Tripura campaign.
Principal Secretary (Health) J.K. Sinha and other officials of the health department were present in the programme.
