The date for the swearing-in ceremony of the elected representatives of the three-tier panchayat system in Tripura was fixed on Saturday.
The Director of the State Panchayat Department, Prasun Dey said, the swearing-in ceremony of the elected members of the gram panchayat and panchayat samiti will be held from August 23 to 31.
The elected members of the zila parishad will take oath from September 7 to 14.
He further said that the swearing-in ceremony of the gram panchayat members will be held at the gram panchayat office and the swearing-in ceremony of the panchayat samiti will be held at the Block office.
Notably three-tier panchayat elections were held in Tripura on August 8 and results were declared on August 12.
The State Election Commission (SEC) reported prior to the August 8 elections, the BJP had won 4,806 (70 per cent) seats of the total of 6,909 unopposed in the gram panchayats, panchayat samitis, and zilla parishads. Elections were held in remaining seats.
According to an IANS report, the results declared on August 12 showed the BJP winning 113 out of 116 seats across eight zilla parishads, with the Congress taking two seats and the CPI-M claiming one.

In the 35 panchayat samitis, which account for 423 seats, the BJP won 403 seats, the Congress secured eight, the CPI-M got seven, and one seat was taken by an Independent. Results for the remaining four seats were pending as on August 13 - the day of reporting.
In the 606 gram panchayats, which have a total of 6,370 seats, the BJP emerged victorious in 5,883 seats, followed by the Congress with 138, CPI-M with 137, Tipra Motha Party (BJP ally) with 102, and Independents with 20 seats. Results for some seats were pending as on August 13.
