TERC directs TSECL to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Summer

The Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission (TERC) directed the Tripura State Electricity Commission Ltd (TSECL) to take special measures and preparations for maintaining uninterrupted power supply during the summer.

 

The TERC also asks to initiate actions against the TSECL or licensee in case of failure to meet the standard of performance as specified in the Electricity Act.

 

In a letter addressed to the Managing Director of the TSECL, the TERC authority wrote, “TSECL/ Distribution Licensee shall ensure continuity of supply. Complaints related to the restoration of supply as also safety-related complaints shall be given special priority.

 

The forecast from all levels for the Summer-2023, insisted the Electricity Sector take special precautionary measures by forecasting, peak load demand during summer time is to be done well in advance, the letter mentioned.

 

“The distribution licensee should chalk out the plan to maintain 24X7 power to all consumers during the summer time. Accordingly, regular monitoring of the generation status of the state and the supply status is to be done along with appropriate planning”, the letter mentioned.

 

It also directed the TSECL for Load balancing for all distribution transformers along with jungle cutting is to be completed by March 2023 and directed to procure sufficient store spares and to store to combo emergency periods during line disruption and breakdown of feeders.
